Mudda Pappu/ Plain Dal




Ingredients

  • Kandipappu/Toor Dal             -100 gms
  • Turmeric powder                     – 1/4 tsp
  • Water                                      - 200 ml
  • Oil                                            - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste

Preparation Method

Dry roast the dal til it turns golden brown color.  Add water and pressure cook it for 3-4 whistles.

Cool & open. Add turmeric powder, salt and mash a little.

Serve with hot rice, ghee and avakkai pachadi.

Variations

1.)    Moong dal/ Pesara pappu can also used instead of toor dal.
