Koftas in Cashew Gravy

Ingredients

For the kofta’s:

  • Potatoes – 3 , boiled
  • Green peas – 1/4 cup, boiled & ground
  • Green chillies – 6, chopped
  • Ginger – 1″ inch, chopped
  • Sesame seeds – 1 tsp
  • Oil as required
  • Salt to taste

For the curry paste:

  • Cashew paste – 2 tbsps
  • Khoya – 2 tsp
  • Kasoori Methi – 1tsp
  • Tomato puree- 1 tbsp
  • Garam masala – 1/2 tsp
  • Cinnamon – 1″ inch piece
  • Cardamom – 1 no.
  • Clove – 1 no.
  • Butter – 1 tbsp
  • Coriander Leaves for Garnishing
  • Salt to taste

Preparation Method

  1. To make the koftas, grate the potatoes and add peas, sesame seeds and green chillies.
  2. Make small balls and fry till golden brown. Keep aside to cool.
  3. To make the curry, in a kadai, pour oil and ad the clove, cinnamon, cardamom and heat it for a minute.
  4. Then add cashew pase and khoya and stir for a minute with butter.
  5. Add tomato puree and keep stirring for 5 minutes.
  6. Add garam masala and the cashew curry is ready.
  7. Put the kofta balls into the gravy and let the koftas absosrb the gravy.
  8. Garish with coriander leaves.
  9. Serve hot with kulchas or pulao.
