Brain Pepper Fry

Ingredients

  • Goat’s Brain                 – 2
  • Onion                             – 1, medium size, finely chopped
  • Green chillies             – 4, finely chopped
  • Garlic                             – 8-10 cloves, peeled, finely chopped
  • Ginger                            - 1″ piece, chopped, optional
  • Turmeric powder     – 1/2 tsp
  • Black pepper               – 1 tbsp, crushed
  • Curry leaves               – 2 sprigs
  • Oil as needed
  • Salt to taste

To Garnish

Coriander leaves

Preparation Method

Clean the brain thoroughly with water. Cut the brain into four pieces.

Boil a cup of water in a vessel and add brain, adjust water till the brain fully soaks.

Add turmeric powder, salt to it.Cover with a lid and cook in a low flame.

Cook till brain is fully done and increase the flame so that the remaining water dries up.

Remove from the stove and keep it aside.

In the meantime, heat oil in a pan and add curry leaves.

Let it get crisped and then add chopped onions, chopped green chillies, garlic and ginger.

Stir fry till the onions turn golden brown. Add salt only for the onions. Remember already salt has been added in the brain.

Now add the cooked brain. Fry on low flame. Take care not to smash the brain pieces while mixing.

Remove from the stove and Garnish with coriander leaves.

Serve hot as side dish for Chapathi or Rice.
